Meredith A. Hogenson

MerEdith Savig Hogenson, 69, Lake Park, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.
MerEdith was born on February 8, 1946, to Arnold and Minda Westlund Savig of Lake Park, MN. She grew up in the Lake Park area and graduated from Lake Park High School in 1964.
On December 12, 1964, MerEdith married Curtis Hogenson. In 1967, Curt and MerEdith moved to their seven-acre homestead south of Lake Park and enjoyed 50 years of marriage.
MerEdith worked in the health care administration field for over 30 years. She served as organist for Houglum Lutheran Church for over three decades, beginning at age 16. During those years, she wore many hats; personal chef, taxi driver, hair stylist, teacher, 4-H mom, personal shopper, pet care specialist, birthday events director, seamstress, caregiver, and friend—just to name a few.
MerEdith delighted in planting beautiful flower gardens, which she would nurture into colorful splendor for all to enjoy. Curt and MerEdith spent countless afternoons together relaxing and watching the birds that graced their yard. They loved cruising in their street rod and traveling to car shows—making lifelong friendships along the way. MeeDee was, and always will be, an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will forever be in our hearts.
MerEdith is survived by her husband, Curtis; children, Todd Cindy Hogenson, Lake Park, MN, Deanna Jason Aloia, Carlsbad, CA, Tracy Liz Hogenson, Plymouth, MN; brothers, Jim Audrey Savig, Audubon, MN, David Stephanie Savig, Lake Park, MN; and grandchildren, Hayden, Hallie, Tyler, Carmen, Sofia, and Tillie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Anna Marie Savig.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, from 2:00-4:00 p.m., with a 3:00 p.m. prayer service, at Wright Funeral Home, Lake Park, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, at Lake Park Lutheran Church.

Interment will follow at Lake Park Lutheran Church Cemetery.
