Merriam L. Moen

Merriam L. Moen, 84, of Moorhead died on February 3, 2005 at Villa Maria, Fargo, ND under Hospice care. Merriam was born on December 4, 1920 in Dalton, MN. He grew up and attended school in Dalton. He worked for the CCC Civilian Conservation Core and for local farmers in the Dalton area. He was drafted into the army in 1942. He was a P.O.W. Following his discharge from the army he worked for area farmers and started with Great Northern Railroad in 1948 and retired in 1981. He was married to DeLoris A. Jorgens on June 22, 1951 in Fergus Falls, MN.He is survived by two sons, Merlyn Moen, Fargo, ND, Dale Moen, Moorhead, MN; two daughters, Debra Dodd, Moorhead, MN, Bonnie Joe Stenger, Moorhead, MN; one brother Dennis, one sister Ethel; six grandchildren and Duke the family dog. He was preceded in death by his wife, DeLoris, and his parents.
