Mia Amara Mata Cratty

Mia Amara Mata Cratty joined her Mama, Alicia, and her Papa, Aarin, at just one minute after midnight on March 18, 2021.   She was so anticipated and loved.  But her journey to get here was rough, and she came into the world facing difficult odds.  Her heart and spirit were so strong and she fought so hard to stay here with us, but her condition was too much to overcome and as the sun rose on March 27, 2021, our amazing little fighter took her last breath in her parents arms.

Mia had beautiful deep blue eyes and lots of curly hair the same color as her Papa’s, perfect little fingers and toes and the cutest little baby nose.  She was just beautiful and perfect from head to toe.  Her time here with us was far too short but it was filled from beginning to end with so much love from her Mama and Papa, all four of her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and the fantastic team of nurses and doctors who cared for her at Sanford.   We will treasure the memories of all the special moments we were privileged to have with her.

Mia lives on in the hearts of her parents, Aarin Cratty and Alicia Zavala; siblings Julian, Jenna, Jaylee, Jayden, and Jakob Clements; grandparents Odilia Hammer, Myron Annis, and Lance and Christie Cratty; great-grandmothers Carolyn Hall and Barbara Cratty; aunt Amber (Derek) Nordby and uncles Albert (Sandra) Mata, Arthur Zavala (Alicia), Armando Zavala, Aidan Cratty, and Heath (Monica) Vivier; many many cousins and lots of extended family.  She was welcomed on the other side by her brother Hank Cratty, cousin Quentin Clements, great-grandpas Harry Hall, Floyd Cratty and Jesus Garcia, and great-grandma Rosalinda Garcia.

The family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks for everyone who prayed and sent good wishes and who otherwise helped us through this journey, and especially all the amazing counselors, nurses and doctors who were on Mia’s care team at Sanford in West Fargo.

Per her parents’ wishes, Mia was cremated.  A small service will be held at Wright Funeral Home, 605 Second Avenue South, Moorhead, MN 56560, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
