Michael B. Peltier

Michael B. Peltier, age 56, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Essentia Health, Fargo.

Michael “Mike” Brian Peltier was born on December 12, 1963 in Grand Forks, ND to Joe Paul Peltier and Dorothy Mekwan. He went to Belcourt Schools and finished his GED in Belcourt as well. Mike was known as a Jack-of-all-trades as he worked a variety of different jobs. He worked construction and auto mechanics in his later years, including many years for Dave Krueger at his autobody shop.

Family was very important to Mike. Not only did he take care of his daughter, Jenn, he also took in two sons as his own. He also always tried to keep in touch with his siblings and watched many of his nieces and nephews grow up, some looking up to him as their parent. Mike was always accepting of others and welcomed them into his life. He has been a father figure to his children’s friend and have helped them as much as his own family. Mike’s friends were not just his friends, they were welcomed into his life as part of his large family. He tried to give his daughter everything he didn’t have growing up, while still making her grateful for what she was given.

Mike has had a few rough years in his life, but he always had a smile on his face and a funny story about something that happened to his family/friends. He had a heart and soul of gold and he will be missed dearly by everyone he has known.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Peltier and Mackenzie (Justin Merek) Jackson; sons, Nolan Birnbaum and Zachariah Birnbaum; four grandchildren; sisters, Tina (Randy) Peltier St. Clair, Florence Peltier, Mary Peltier, and Stacie Charnbonneau; brothers, Jon Peltier; Bruce Peltier; Paul Peltier; and Jeremy Peltier; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Joe Paul Peltier; daughter, Jeanna Renee Peltier; family/friends, Lydia Stair, Sandra Delorme, Lenny Delorme, Gerald Ellis, Rebecca Jackson-Metcalf, Cory Metcalf, Steve Viver, and Eric Juarez-Peltier.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 2:00 P.M., with a visitation starting at 1:00, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
