Michael C. Champ, 15, Oxbow, ND, died on Thursday, May 25, 2006, in a motor vehicle accident on Highway 75 and 160th Avenue south, Moorhead, MN.Michael Chris Champ was born on August 19, 1990 in Fargo, ND, to Chris and Sheri Paulsen Champ. He grew up at Oxbow, ND, and had just finished the ninth grade at the Kindred High School.Michael was a vibrant young man who left an impression on everyone he met. He was patient and kind. Michael loved the outdoors. Most afternoons he could be found on the Oxbow Country Club golf course practicing for the Kindred Varsity Golf Team or playing with friends and family. He was always up for fishing, swimming, biking or playing with his niece at the park. Mike was a trumpet player in band and jazz band and loved music of all kinds. Michael was looking forward to sharing his love of the outdoors this summer as a Counselor in Training at YMCA Camp Cormorant which he attended as a camper for several summers. Each winter, he eagerly awaited the first snow knowing that snowmobiling season had begun. When he was not outdoors, Michael loved working on projects in the garage. He was a fan of anything that involved power tools and recently learned to weld. Michael's charisma made him unforgettable in the lives of the people who knew him.Michael is survived by his parents, Chris and Sheri Champ, Oxbow, ND; two sisters, Amanda Champ and her daughter Madison O'Donnell, Eagan, MN; Ashley Champ, Oxbow, ND; grandparents, Wayne Champ, Glyndon, MN, Naomi Champ, Detroit Lakes, MN, LeRoy and Sandra Paulsen, Dawsonville, GA; aunts and uncles, Vicki Paulsen, Fargo, Greg Noriko Paulsen, Dawsonville, GA, Julie Champ Bob Kaiser, Edina, MN, Laurie Ron Dahley, West Fargo, ND, Shelly Kurt Champ-Bebeau, Elk River, MN; great uncle, Terry Deb Chambers, Fargo, ND; seven cousins and many dear friends.He will forever be remembered as a loving young man who brought joy to all the lives he touched.
