Michael C. Lundberg

Michael (Mike) Charles Lundberg (71) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at his home in Moorhead, MN. He was born September 23, 1952, in Detroit Lakes, MN to Wilfred and Maxine (Hollenbeck) Lundberg. Mike grew up on a farm near Frazee, MN until moving to Eagle Lake at the age of 7. He graduated from Frazee High School. After briefly attending Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, he held a variety of different jobs. He excelled in music and car sales, and spent several years working at the Scandia Hotel before transitioning into the medical field. He worked at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND until his retirement.

Mike found his forever partner when he met Karen Register. They married on June 3, 1987, in Fargo, ND. Mike and Karen found their dream home and neighborhood in north Moorhead. They enjoyed making home improvements and working in their yard. They were both big fans of the FM RedHawks and Minnesota Twins and enjoyed attending games or listening to games on the radio in their backyard. They lived a happy life together until Karen’s passing in June of 2010. 

Mike enjoyed many different hobbies and interests. He had a vast musical knowledge spanning many genres, and spent many hours listening to his large collection. He loved to talk music and shared many new & old artists with friends and family. He was also an avid reader of mystery novels and biographies. British mysteries were some of his favorites. Playing cards and visiting with family & friends was also a favorite of Mike’s, with many stories shared and much laughter. Summers were spent exploring the Minnesota lake country on his Harley Davidson and his Miata convertible. 

One of Mike’s greatest joys was becoming a grandpa to Lili. He loved to introduce her to his musical tastes, and he beamed with pride as he often bragged about her many artistic talents!

He was preceded in death by his parents (Wilfred and Maxine), infant sister (Deborah), stepson (Darrin Register) and wife (Karen).

Mike is survived by his stepdaughter Erika (Shane) Serquina; granddaughter Lili (Daniel Sanchez) Serquina; sister Virginia (Thomas) Leverson; brother Rick; niece Jennifer (Carter Evenson) Leverson; nephew Tim (Ashley Bruce) Leverson; and great niece Alexandra (Joshua) Leverson-Lund.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service 2:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
