Michael S. Jacobson

Michael S. Jacobson, 54, of Hitterdal, MN, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2014, in his home surrounded by his loving family, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Mike was born in Detroit Lakes, MN, on September 23, 1960, to Milo and Betty Peterman Jacobson. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Ulen-Hitterdal graduating in 1978. Following school he began at the farm full time where was able to work with family and do what he loved. Mike was a generous man who took pride in what he did and enjoyed helping others whenever possible. His most recent passion was working on restoring his classic Trans-Am. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends, but most of all loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Mike is survived by his sons, Kelly Tamara Jacobson of Wichita, KS, Kyle Jessica Jacobson of Hitterdal, MN; grandchildren, Arianna, Aiden, Ainsley, Braxton and Kohen Jacobson; mother, Betty Jacobson of Hitterdal; brother, Gary Val Jacobson of Hitterdal; sisters, Kathy Mark Larson of West Fargo, ND, Lori Bruce Tellefson of Fargo, ND, Susan Matt Fischer of Glyndon, MN; step-children, Chad Jill Dibley, Nichole Matt Fulton; five step-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milo.

Visitation: Sunday, December 28, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., with prayer service at 5 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.
Funeral: Monday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m., in Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal, MN.
Interment: Salem East Cemetery, Hitterdal, MN.
