Michael W. Miller

Michael Ward Miller, 52, of Moorhead, MN, died unexpectedly in his home April 5, 2018.

Michael was born December 4, 1965, in Moorhead, to Warren and Patti (Chase) Miller.  He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1984.  After graduation, he spent a few years living in California but eventually returned to the Midwest.  He worked as a camera man for Chicago Cubs Baseball for some time and then moved back to Moorhead where he worked for Red River Valley and Western Railroad in Breckenridge, MN, until his back injury.  He later worked for Sysco Foods as a forklift operator and for Strata of West Fargo as a concrete truck driver.

On March 31, 1997, the happiest day of his life, Michael was blessed with the birth of his daughter, Erin.

In 2005, Michael met Lori Francisco, and they were united in marriage in 2009. They divorced in 2015.

Michael was a man who cared deeply for other people and was always the first one to help anyone that needed anything.  He loved fishing, hunting, cooking, and listening to blues music.

He is survived by his parents, Warren (Diane) Miller and Patti Miller (Rip Wasfaret), both of Moorhead; his daughter, Erin Miller, of Fargo; his brothers, Scott Miller, of Duluth, MN, and Gary (fiancé DeAnn Hawkinson), of Blaine, MN; his sister, Bev (Jason) Anderson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; his grandmother, Evelyn Chase, of Moorhead; his step-grandmother, Joyce Buhman, of Pipestone, MN; his nieces, April Miller, of North Carolina, Brooke Miller, of Fargo and Ania McDonnell, of St. Paul, MN; his nephew, Ethan McDonnell, of Duluth, MN; his best friend, Mark Hanson and many other friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elsie Miller; and grandfathers, Frank Miller and Leonard Chase.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 13, 2018, at 1:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.  Friends and family may gather together from noon to 1:00 P.M.
