Michael Wayne Wiita

Michael Wayne Wiita, 31, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, in his home in Hawley.

Michael was born on July 27, 1992, to Vincent Wiita and Tammy Batcher, in International Falls, MN. He grew up in International Falls where he attended high school and graduated from Garrison High School in Garrison, ND. After high school, he moved to Bismarck, ND, where he lived for a few years working at an oil rig. In 2015, he moved to Hawley, MN, with his father where he has lived ever since. He met his girlfriend, Cindy Flores, in Hawley, MN, where they raised their children. and worked as a cook at the Whistle Stop as well as at the Arco and Mobile gas stations.

Michael enjoyed fishing on his boat with his father-in-law and going for walks with his boys and their dog.

Michael is survived by his significant other, Cindy Flores; children, Emelie Ramos, Melissa Ramos, Parker Wiita, and Noah Wiita; siblings, Craig (Corrine) Wiita and William Wiita; and nephews, Connor, Cole, and Corbin Wiita, and Beau Wiita; and many other living relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Tammy; and grandfather, Gary “Curly” Wiita.
