Michelle E. Erickson

Michelle Eileen Kain Erickson, 44, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015, in Sanford Health’s Palliative Care Center, Fargo, ND. Michelle was born in St. Paul, MN, on January 24, 1971, to Jim and Kathy Kain. She grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from Fargo South High School. On May 8, 1993, Michelle married Troy Erickson in Fargo. Together they made their home in Hallock, MN, and started a family. She started her own daycare and treasured the many relationships she made. In 2004, they moved to Hawley, MN, where they have resided since.

Michelle touched the hearts of children of all ages through her work in preschool, Sunday school, daycare and her willingness to help others any chance she could. She also enjoyed crafts, knitting and was able to share her creativeness with those she cared for. She will be greatly missed.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Troy; children, Jacob and Katie; parents, Jim and Kathy Kain of Fargo, ND; sister, Angela Eric Evans and their children, Reese and Emma, all of Fargo; brother, David Amy Kain and their children, Sam and Alex, all of Fargo; and numerous extended family members and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wes and Hilda Alinder; uncle, Bruce Alinder; and grandmother-in-law, Edna Lian.

Visitation: Thursday, March 5, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with prayer service at 7 p.m., in Hawley Lutheran Church, Hawley, MN.
Funeral: Friday, March 6, at 11:00 a.m., in Hawley Lutheran Church, Hawley, MN.
Interment: Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN.
