Mildred C. Olson

Mildred was born July 8, 1915, in Clay County, Minnesota to Carl and Helga Ramstad. She grew up and graduated from Hawley High School. Following graduation she attended Detroit Lakes Business College. She married Albert R. Olson June 3, 1942. He died from a hunting accident on November 19, 1945, two months after returning from serving over seas during World War II. Mildred spent most of her life doing office work in the Minneapolis area, returning to Lake Park and Hawley after her retirement. Mildred belonged to the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helga, father, Carl, a brother Berlyn, and a sister, Leona. Mildred is survived by a niece, Nancy Kennedy; and a nephew, Donald Hagen; great nieces and nephews; several cousins; and a brother-in-law; Mart Hagen.
