Monna Lou Leach

Monna Lou Leach, 88, Moorhead, MN, formerly Glyndon, MN, passed away peacefully December 17, 2017 at Eventide in Moorhead.

Monna Lou was born to George and Cora (Pederson) Olsen on November 3, 1929 in Fargo, ND.

She graduated from Comstock High School, Comstock, MN in 1948.  She married Donovan Leach in Rustad Lutheran Church on December 15, 1949.  They made their home in Moorhead where she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone.  They later moved to Glyndon where she did residential cleaning and also sold life insurance for Royal Neighbors of America.  She attended several Achiever’s Conferences, accompanied by her husband, in several major cities throughout the U.S.  She was active as well in quilting in the Glyndon Lutheran Church where she was a member.  Don and Monna Lou spent several winters in Apache Junction, AZ.  They raised their two daughters in Glyndon.  Monna Lou enjoyed working in her flower garden.  She and her husband enjoyed camping and traveling in several states.

Monna Lou is survived by her husband, Don, of Moorhead; her daughters, Maureen Holden, of West Fargo and LuAnn (Matt) Tack, of Dilworth; granddaughters, Christie (Jimmy) Stevens, of Battle Ground, WA and Corrie (Efren) Serrano, of Idaho Falls, ID, Xaina Tack, of Minneapolis, and Kylee Tack, of Dilworth; great-grandchildren,  Hunter and Holden Stevens, Ryker Serrano, and Madden Serrano; step-great-grandchildren, Breeley and Sam Serrano; nephews, James (Carla) Wolsky and Jon (Deb) Wolsky; and niece, Sharisse Olsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Cora Olsen; sister, Grace Wolsky; brother, Georgie Olsen and niece, Michelle Baehr.

The family of Monna Lou extends their heartfelt appreciation for the care provided by all the staff, especially the nurses and CNA’s, at Eventide in Moorhead.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, with visitation for one hour before the service, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.  Interment will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
