Muriel I. Ritter

Muriel I. Ritter, 81, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died on Thursday, November 3, 2005, in the nursing home.Muriel I. Cummings was born on December 31, 1923, in Spring Valley, NY, to Floyd and Lily Marinus Cummings. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from Spring Valley High School and then attending business college. Muriel married Harvey D. Ritter on March 2, 1944, in Detroit, MI, and they made their home in Moorhead, MN. Harvey died on September 16, 1995. She worked at Fairmont Creamery for a few years, and, later in life worked with handicapped children at the Harbor School in Moorhead. She was a long-time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Moorhead, where she taught handicapped children in the Sunday school. Muriel was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.She is survived by two sons, Duane Kathy Ritter, Roseburg, OR, and Ron Susan Ritter, Moorhead, MN; one daughter, Tammy Stephen Sakrismo, Moorhead, MN; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, one sister and her son, Paul.
