Myron Geldreich, 86, Hawley, MN, died on Saturday, August 17, 2013, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Myron F. Geldreich was born on October 2, 1926, in Brampton, ND, to Ernest and Amelia Reisenweber Geldreich. He grew up and attended school there and then farmed with his father.
He served in the U.S. Army and then returned to Brampton for a time. He moved to Hawley, MN, and worked at the Hawley Elevator and Ireland’s Lumber Yard before becoming a gravel truck driver for Kost Brothers.
Myron married Nona A. Aune on April 16, 1961, in the Hawley Lutheran Church.
He retired in 1989. In retirement he kept busy with small engine repair, fixing lawn mowers and snow blowers. He liked fishing, especially ice fishing. He loved to visit, and sought out opportunities to be with people.
His wife, Nona, died on January 29, 2005.
Myron is survived by his daughter, Linda Sonius, West Fargo, ND, step-son David Norman, Hawley, MN, step-daughter Kathryn Scott Thomas, Fargo, ND, daughter Ruth Jim Smith, Hawley, MN, and daughter, Lisa Geldreich, St. Louis Park, MN; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers Lloyd Geldreich, Spokane, WA, Dale Geldreich, California, and Arlen Geldreich, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and a brother Gordon.
Visitation: Tuesday, August 20, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7, in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.
Funeral: Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 11:00 A.M., in Hawley Lutheran Church, Hawley, MN.
Interment: Lysne Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hawley, MN.
