Nathan K. Beach

April 22, 1991 — February 2, 2014

Nathan Keith Beach left us unexpectedly on February 2, 2014 in Moorhead, MN. He was born on April 22, 1991 to Lisa Beach Langager and Keith Beach in Fargo, ND. Nate was the second of three children. He grew up in Moorhead and attended the Moorhead school system until he graduated in 2009. During high school he became WSI certified and life guarded each summer at the Dilworth pool. He spent many hours going above and beyond to ensure the pool remained open so children could have a safe place to have fun. While maintaining his role at the Dilworth pool, Nathan also took a position life guarding at the downtown YMCA, where he also taught multiple classes and certified lifeguards. After graduation he attended North Dakota State University and then Minnesota State Community and Technical College focusing on a degree within the medical field.

Nate enjoyed many things, especially his family and friends. He devoted many hours watching activities, lending a hand around the house, reaching out to others, telling stories and helping out with his godchildren whenever possible. During the summer, Nate spent many weekends at Big McDonald Lake. Sitting around the fire, tubing, boating and relaxing on the Sandbar were the highlights of his summers. With a personality that lit up a room, Nate made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed going to dances, cruising, being spontaneous, funny and making the best out of every situation.

At the age of 19, Nate was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. It strained him immensely but he was determined to make the best out of every day. He rarely complained and put on a brave front concerning his pain, as he didn’t want anyone to worry. To take his mind off of everything, he loved to cook for his family and could whip up a mean meal. His companion throughout his struggle was his four-legged, best friend Sam.

Nate impacted the lives of so many with his unforgettable personality and infectious smile. He will be greatly missed.

Nate is survived by his mother, Lisa Jeff Amundson Beach; brother, Chris Beach; sister, Tiffany Brad Eckholm; nephews, Colin Conteh and Caiden Eckholm; niece, Caitlyn Eckholm; step-brother, Lucas Amundson; and step-sister, Jessica Amundson. He is also survived by many close relatives and friends.

Nate was preceded in death by his father, Keith Beach; grandpa, Bernard Beach; and grandparents, Robert and Arlene Langager.
