Ned M. Henry

Ned M. Henry, 86, Audubon, MN, died on Saturday, November 26, 2011, in his home on Bluewater Bay near Audubon.Ned was born on May 4, 1925, in Downer, MN, to Lamont and Jessie Lamb Henry. He grew up and attended school there. At the age of seventeen, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on submarines in the Pacific theatre of WWII. Following his service he returned to Moorhead and went to work for Kost Brothers as an excavator. Ned married Joyce M. Olson in 1950. He and his brother started Henry Brothers Excavating in Moorhead in 1955. Ned retired in 1982 and they moved to Bluewater Bay, south of Audubon, MN. He loved his time at the lake and enjoyed fishing, family and friends.Ned's family would like offer a special thank you to Wayne and Sandy Jacobson, neighbor and friend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley.Ned is survived by his wife, Joyce Henry; daughter Cindy Peter Johnson, Moorhead, MN; sons Mike Marlene Henry, Russ Carol Henry, and Mark Kathy Henry, all of Moorhead; son-in-law, David Ness, Dilworth, MN; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Debbie Ness, grandson Jason Henry, seven siblings.
