Nicholas Joseph Swanson

Nicholas Joseph Swanson, 28, Denver, CO, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in his home in Denver.

Nick (known to his friends as “Swanny”) was born on September 3, 1989 in Fargo, ND, to Greg and Alice (Tack) Swanson. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, MN, graduating from Moorhead High School in 2008. Nick was an athletic kid, playing soccer, golf, basketball and baseball. He attended UND in Grand Forks, ND, for two years and during that time he went to work for Hugo’s and Target. Nick returned to Moorhead and continued to work at Target.

He wanted to live in Colorado, so in the spring of 2016 he moved to Denver and went to work for Target. This is where he met his fiancé, Jessica Wise. They made their home there along with two rescue pups, Lucky and Rizzoli. Nick loved sports and was a Washington Redskins fan. He enjoyed movies, gaming and being with people. He loved his family and his many circles of friends. He had a great sense of humor, tinged with a bit of sarcasm, and loved to stir the pot.

Nick is survived by his parents, Greg and Alice Swanson, Moorhead, MN; sister Tiffany Swanson, Moorhead, MN; grandfather Einar M. Swanson, Fargo, ND; aunts and uncles Steve (Diane) Swanson, Grand Forks, ND, John (Lisa) Tack, Littleton, CO, Matt (LuAnn) Tack, Dilworth, MN, Danni Tack, Fargo, ND, Ronnie Schiltz, Moorhead, MN; his fiancé, Jessica Wise, Denver, CO;  and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel F. and Sharon A. Tack, and Phyllis J. Swanson.

Memorial gathering: Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 9:30 A. M. until 11:00 A.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.

Memorial service: Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
