Nicole Anne Blilie

Nicole Anne Blilie, 18, Moorhead, MN, died in Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN, on December 15, 2007 after a short, courageous battle with a rare, aggressive lymphoma.Nicole was born on December 2, 1989, in Fargo, ND, to Scott and Ruth Askegaard Blilie. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead . She was currently a senior at Moorhead High School, where she played flute in the band and was a member of Key Club. She also played piano and was active in her church at Comstock Lutheran Church. She played on the Comstock Softball Team. Nicole enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enthusiastically supported her friends in their activities. She had a special place in her heart for young children, and she was anticipating caring for Silas in heaven, a child that she got to know who died December fifth. She was scheduled to receive a bone marrow transplant on December twenty first. She inspired more than one hundred and twenty-two people to join the National Marrow Donor Program.Nicole is survived by her parents, Scott and Ruth Blilie, Moorhead; brother, Dannie Blilie, Moorhead; Grandparents, Floyd and Faye Blilie, Moorhead and Gertrude Askegaard, Comstock, MN; aunts and uncles, Todd Jane Austinson Blilie, Tom Kathy Askegaard, Ed Askegaard, Anne Rick Brakke, Andrew Marion Askegaard; cousins, Matt, Michael, Mason, Leah, Ben, Isaac, and Samuel Askegaard, Luke and Kristina Brakke, Tony and Jay Blilie, Olivia Wagner; her best friend and second cousin, Kayla Johnson; and her loving dog, Oreo.Nicole's family would like to acknowledge the doctors and staff at Saint Marys Hospital / Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, for the professional and compassionate care that she received over the course of her illness.To view a live broadcast of the funeral service for Nicole, please visit urlhttp://www.ustream.tv/channel/szp/url.
