Nona A. Geldreich was born on May 9, 1933, in Cromwell Township, near Hawley, MN, to Arnt and Nettie Nelson Aune. She grew up and attended country school there, and then attended high school in Glyndon, MN, graduating in 1951. She married David Norman on December 1, 1951, at Hawley, MN, and they had three children, Linda Sonius, Fargo, ND, Kathryn Scott Thomas, Fargo, ND, and David Norman, Hawley, MN. Her husband David died on October 31, 1959. Nona married Myron Geldreich on April 16, 1961, and they continued to live in Hawley. They had two children, Ruth Jim Smith, Hawley, MN, and Lisa Geldreich, St. Louis Park, MN. Nona had worked at the Red Owl in Hawley, the Hawley Bakery, and did wallpapering and painting. In later years she did residential cleaning. She was a very active member of Hawley Lutheran Church, serving in many capacities including a recently completed two year term as president of the Hawley Lutheran WELCA. She volunteered with REACH, and for the past ten years, she enjoyed helping her son pick raspberries. One of Nona's favorite hobbies was solving crossword puzzles. Nona had a giving heart and loved helping others. Nona loved to visit family and friends and family birthdays were especially important to Nona.In addition to her children listed above, she is also survived by her husband, Myron, Hawley, MN; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four nephews, one niece and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David Norman, one brother and one sister.
