Nora Norlyn Dauner

Nora Norlin (Heller) Dauner, 89, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Hawley Senior Living, Hawley, MN. Nora was born on December 14, 1929 to Christian and Frieda (Gustavas) Heller in Leonard, ND.

Nora attended school in the Woods, ND and Sheldon, ND area. She was raised in the Kindred area until moving to Fargo. She worked in the Fargo Café and Laundry from 1946 – 1948. She was united in marriage to William “Sonny” Dauner on October 16, 1948 in Fargo. Together, they moved to a farm North of Hawley where they raised their children. She began working for Meritcare Hospital as a housekeeper from 1971 – 1986 and then for Hawley Manor for three years, retiring in 1989. Nora and Sonny moved into Hawley in 1992.

Nora was an active member of the Lysne Lutheran Church. She enjoyed dancing, baking, bingo, gardening, and traveling, especially to Hawaii.

Nora is survived by her sons, Dean (Betty Jeral) Dauner, Harley (Norma) Dauner, and Mark Dauner; daughters, Nancy (Tom) Bjorndahl and Jerrie (Loren) Skjeret; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Olga Priewe; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Sonny”; parents, Christian and Frieda; 1 grandchild; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at Lysne Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lysne Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date in the spring.
