Norma A. Bergseid

Norma passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 31, 2024, at River Pointe Assisted Living Center in Moorhead, MN at the age of 85. Norma was born on August 21, 1939, to Amanda and Norman Erickson in Fargo, ND - the youngest of 6 children.

On November 22, 1958, Norma married Joseph C. Bergseid, the love of her life. They made their home together in Rollag, MN where they raised their 5 children. Norma was very active in the church and community and made many lifelong friends. Norma and Joe hosted and visited friends' homes for Wist parties. She enjoyed playing Scrabble with friends and her children. Norma was a member of the local Homemakers group where she attained new recipes and craft ideas to make. Early on in their marriage, Joe taught Norma how to make homemade bread. There was nothing better than to come home to the aroma of fresh baked bread! Norma was also an avid gardener, both flowers and vegetables. She did a lot of canning and baking with the fruits of her labors.

After Joe's disability, Norma became his loving caregiver, went back to school and joined the workforce at Cass Clay Creamery to provide for her family. Norma retired from Cass Clay Creamery in 1997. Norma loved to read, crochet, and hand embroider dish towels for her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with family and friends, listening to music and watching Hallmark Christmas movies.

Norma is survived by her daughter Christine Spieker (Robert) children Robert, Zachary, and Matthew. Her son Joseph Bergseid (Konni) children James and Samantha. Her daughter Ruth Rheault (Dewey) children Travis, Andrew and Tanner. Her son Thomas Bergseid (Beth) children Tyler Bergseid, James and Michael Jacobson. Her son Robert Bergseid children Connor and Devlan. Norma has 16 great grandchildren. Norma is also survived by her sister Dolores Olson (Dan), many nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Joseph C. Bergseid, her grandson Zachary Spieker and great grandson Waylon Solum.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Rollag Lutheran Church, Rollag, MN.
