Norman A. Feske, 86, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Norm was born in Salem, SD, on January 22, 1934. He grew up in St. Paul, MN, and graduated from Wilson High School in 1952. He attended USD in Vermillion, SD, and married Penelope Schilling in June 1963.
After 40 years he retired as President and General Manager of Fairway Foods of Fargo and Corporate Senior Vice President of Fairway Foods of Minneapolis in 1992. He came out of retirement to serve as President and General Manager of Hartz Wholesale Foods.
With his sons, Norm opened the first video store in the Fargo/Moorhead area later known as Videoland and Pick a Video. With his wife and daughter, he owned and operated the Sunshine Tree gift store in the Moorhead Center Mall and the Two Plus Two costume jewelry stores in malls in Virginia, Alexandria, Fergus Falls and Moorhead. He also owned and operated the Pretzelmaker in the Moorhead Center Mall.
Norm was Past Master of the Tusler Masonic Lodge of St Paul, MN, Past President of Moorhead Youth Hockey, Past Associate Guardian of Jobs Daughters of Bethel 32 of Moorhead and Past President of the Moorhead Center Mall Merchants Association and was a member of Grace United Methodist church of Moorhead.
Norm was an avid sports fan, especially hockey and attended every Moorhead Spuds game that he could. He enjoyed traveling with Penny during winter vacations and spending summer weekends on Lake Eunice since 1975 with his children and especially his grandchildren.
Norm was preceded in death by his father, Daniel; mother, Lydia; step-mother, Rica; wife, Penelope; brothers, Philip, Ira, Earl, Daniel and sisters, Lena and Phoebe (Boots); nieces, Phyllis, Karen, Polly, Denise and Barbara and granddaughter, Nicole. He is survived by his children, Kim (Marilyn), Todd (Diane), Robin (Theresa), Minda (Dennis), Jill (Brian) and James; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
*Since Norm’s passing, his son, Robin and brother-in-law, Russ Hanson have also passed away.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
