Norman E. Griffin, 86, of Grandin, ND, died Monday, August 16, 2010 in Innovis Health, Fargo, ND. Norman Eugene was born on September 5, 1924, in Anita, IA, to Earl and Elizabeth Hoover Griffin. He grew up and attended country school in Iowa. He enlisted in the Navy from 1945 to 1946. After the Navy, he returned to Iowa, when he married Imo Jean Holland in 1947. They farmed for five years in the Anita, IA area before moving to Grandin, ND, where they raised their family and continued to farm. Norman loved to farm, drive semi and raise livestock, especially cattle and pigs. He retired from farming in 1990. Norman enjoyed wintering in Arizona since 1979. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Imo passed away in June 2007. Norman married Gloria Brillantes on March 8, 2008. Norman is survived by his wife, Gloria, Grandin, ND; daughter, Patsy Keith Hochgraber, Grandin, ND; grandchildren, Josh Amy Hochgraber, Detroit Lakes, MN, Ben Hochgraber Cara Ness, Bismarck, ND and WO2 Katie Jeremy Lamm, both currently deployed; and great-granddaughter, Audrey Jean Hochgraber.He is preceded in death by his first wife, Imo; his parents; son, Robert Griffin; two brothers, Arnold and Leland Griffin; and four sisters, Elsie Johnson, Edith Martin, Myrtle Olsen and Doris Paulsen.
