Norman J. Bergseid

Norman was born April 19, 1911, on the family farm, in Eglon Township, Clay County, Minnesota, to Knute and Nettie Erickson Bergseid. His father died when Norman was 10 years old, and Norman took over the milking operation, which he continued for fifty years, retiring in 1984. He took care of his mother until her death in 1969. Norman moved into Hawley in 1988. He has been a resident of Hawley Senior Living for several years. Norman was very active with the Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion, and was chairman of the gate crew for many years. He was a member of Rollag Lutheran Church. He is survived by two nephews, Sherwood Bergseid and Keith Bergseid; two nieces, Donna Faries and Cheryl States; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Bergseid. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Thomas, Kenneth, and Milton; and a nephew, Thomas Bergseid.
