Norman Jones

Norman J. Jones, 81, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Norm was born July 5, 1942, in Fargo, ND, to Jesse and Violet Jones. He grew up and attended school in Vally City, ND. Following high school, Norm moved to California for a time before moving back to the area in the mid 1970’s. Norm married Frances Rode in 1979 and together they made their home in Valley City until moving to Rapid City, SD, in 1988. Norm enjoyed his career at Olstad Body Shop, where spent 28 years followed by a year in Rapid City. They returned to the F/M area and Norm worked at Integrity Windows, Alloway, and Menards prior to retiring. Even in his spare time, Norm loved working on his cars and motorcycles.

Norm is survived by his wife, Frances; sons, Troy and Chad; daughter, Angela; three grandchildren, Jeramiah, Hannah and Sofia; sisters-in-law, Jayne Jones, Cathy Rode, Marge Rode, Mary Rose Rode, Virginia Vincent and Sheila Burman; many nieces and nephews; and Dale Colville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Larry, sister-in-law, Mary Jones; brothers-in-law, Alan and Fred Rode; and Alan Gehrke.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 30, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 5:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.

Funeral service will be Monday, July 31, at 11:00 a.m., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at St. Leo's Cemetery, Casselton, ND, at a later date.
