Odean "Abe" Nappe, 82, Glyndon, MN, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.Odean "Abe" Nappe was born on May 21, 1923, in Mahnomen, MN, to Ole and Anna Haugo Nappe. He grew up and attended school there. He married Shirley Larson on June 8, 1945, in Mahnomen, MN, and they lived in Mahnomen where he farmed and worked for Ness Construction. In 1975, they moved to Merced, CA, and lived there until returning to the area in 1983. They moved to Glyndon, MN, in 1992. Odean and Shirley had sold Christmas trees for twenty-one years, first in Moorhead and then in Glyndon. They also made crafts and sold them at various craft shows in the area. Family was most important to Odean and he was very proud of all of his children. Shirley was the love of his life and they had recently renewed their wedding vows at their 60th anniversary in June. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a practical joke.Odean is survived by his wife, Shirley Nappe, Glyndon, MN; two sons, Todd Diana Nappe, Germany, and Troy Lori Nappe, Moorhead, MN; five daughters, Sharon Lowman, Sedalia, MO, Carol Dale Busse, Moorhead, MN, Cindy Steve Griesert, Faribault, MN, Tami Steve Kazeck, Rochester, MN, and Tracy Todd Tollefson, Glyndon, MN; two sisters, Evelyn Nappe, Duluth, MN, and Elizabeth Oppido, Suitland, Maryland; twenty-eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kim Spaeth; and four brothers, Larry, Leslie, Eldon and Robert.
