Oris Jetvig, 96, Hawley, MN, died Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Hawley Senior Living.
Oris Manford Jetvig was born October 28, 1918, on the family farm in Hawley, to Norman and Hilda Kjos Jetvig. He attended the Solum country school in rural Hawley and was a member of Hegland Lutheran Church. On September 13, 1941 he married Minnie “Dolly” Luthi and they farmed together on the family farm southeast of Hawley until their retirement. They enjoyed spending winters in Fort Meyers, Florida and summers at Cormorant Lake. Oris enjoyed hunting deer in the fall and golfing while he was in Florida. He could fix just about anything, and he enjoyed spending time working in his shop. Oris and Dolly were members of Hawley Lutheran Church.
Oris is survived by his sons, Eugene Ann Jetvig, and Loren Pixie Jetvig, both of Hawley, ten grandchildren, Laurie Tim Wollenzien, Moorhead, MN, Scott Kristy Jetvig, Hawley, Chad Jetvig, Fargo, Lisa Doug Keller, Lenior City, TN, Tessa Micah Tysver, Dilworth, MN, Trista Brandon Chapman, West Fargo, ND, Danielle Isaac Renner, Wadena, MN, Michelle Jetvig, Fargo, Angie Dustin Hasbrouck, Moorhead, and Michael Jetvig, Fargo; and 16 great-grandchildren, Margret and Hannah Wollenzien, Candace Kevin Perry, Emily and Ashley Jetvig, Madison, Makenna and Elle Jetvig, Ashley, Sarah and Olivia Keller, Mason, Aubrey and Deakon Tysver, and Presley and Rowen Chapman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly; his parents; his brothers, Alvin and Morris; his sisters, Lillie, Josephine, and Hazel; his son, Steven, and his great-grandson, Bryce.
Funeral service: Monday, September 28, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Hawley Lutheran Church, Hawley, MN. Visitation: one hour before the service in the church. Interment: Hawley Cemetery.
