Orriss E. Bye

Orriss E. Bye, 96, of Moorhead, MN died Friday, May 13, 2011 in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN. Orriss Edna Amundson was born on December 8, 1914 near Glyndon, MN to Ole and Elizabeth Jensen Amundson. She grew up and attended school in Comstock, MN. On June 12, 1937 she married Erling Bye in Comstock, MN. They farmed in rural Rustad, MN for over 40 years. They retired in Moorhead, MN. Orriss was involved with Hoff Lutheran Church in Rustad, MN where she participated in Ladies Aide. She also volunteered as a hair dresser for Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN. Orriss enjoyed making crafts, especially crocheting and quilting. She also loved to cook, bake and entertain in her home. Most of all, she loved being with her family. Orriss is survived by two daughters, Bev Frank Cordahl, Fargo, ND and Sharon Boen, Littleton, CO; one son, Curt Cindy Bye, Moorhead, MN; nine grandchildren, Julie Paul Eiler, Steve Cordahl, Eric Beth Boen, Michael Polly Boen, Bryan Cheri Bye, Jodee Tom Iten, Kayla Bye, Michael Anna Haarstad and Heather Nick Olson; eight great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kelsie, and Alisha Eiler, Ethan, Lily, and Cael Boen, Addison and Tyler Iten; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters, Della Lammers, Millie Corneliussen, Julia Kinneberg, Lilia Amundson and Ellen Bye; and four brothers, Albin, Edwin, Clifford and Ole Jr. Amundson.
