Osborne Irvin Asleson was born to Ole Julius and Ingeborg Belle Broten Asleson on September 10, 1915, at the family farm near Ulen, Minnesota. He attended Ulen public schools, and was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen where he remained a lifelong member. Osborne farmed with his older brother Noel and sister Rosella near Ulen, retiring in the mid-1980s. Osborne enjoyed his life as a farmer, taking pride in his crops and animals. He was proud of his family and Norwegian heritage, and enjoyed telling stories of his early childhood and life on the farm. He was devoted to his family, and especially enjoyed visits from his nephews and nieces. He lived in Ulen until 2002 when he moved to Moorhead, and later entered Rosewood on Broadway where he resided until his death. At Rosewood, he enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with other residents and staff. The family would like to express their gratitude for the tender care he received from the 4th floor staff at Rosewood. This kind and loving man will be greatly missed by his family. Osborne is survived by his nephews Kenneth Judy Asleson of Monarch, Montana, David Teresa Asleson of Clancy, Montana; and niece Linda Asleson of Spokane, Washington. Also surviving him are his grandnieces Cindy Asleson of Blanco, Texas, Kerri Asleson of Moorhead, Randi Asleson of Spokane, Washington; and nephew Evan Asleson of Monarch, Montana. Other survivors include Mary Knopfler of Ulen, and Mike and Darin Livdahl of Fargo. Osborne was preceded in death by his father Ole in 1922; mother Belle in 1963; and siblings Noel in 1989, Rosella in 1999, and Orris in 2005.
