Owen Hoover was born on February 8, 1929, on the family farm in Dale, MN to Ole and Emma Westberg Gol. He grew up and attended school near Dale. He worked on the farm and helped wire houses for electricity before entering the Army in 1951. In 1953 Owen returned from the service and worked for a short time at Boeing Aircraft in Kansas and as a Chevrolet mechanic in Hawley, MN. In 1959 he opened Owen's Garage, which he owned and operated until 1998, when he had a stroke. He enjoyed playing and listening to music, especially singing and playing guitar with his friends. Owen was also a member of the VFW in Ulen, MN. Owen is survived by his companion, Ardis Stronstad and her family, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Lewis, Wallace and Helmer Gol.
