Palmer Nymark, 76, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, November 4, 2006, in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.Palmer was born on September 2, 1930, in LaCrosse, WI, to Rev. John and Esther Thompson Nymark. He grew up and attended school in Valley City, ND, Pennsylania, and graduated from high school in Hawley, MN. He went to work for American Crystal Sugar at the Moorhead plant in the fall of 1949. He worked there for 25 years and then worked in the Hillsboro plant for three years. Palmer married Phyllis Kaste on October 28, 1950, in Moorhead. In 1976, he and his family co-founded Sher's Kitchen in Moorhead, and then, in 1983, Mom's Kitchen in Fargo. Palmer was an avid reader, and enjoyed roller skating, bowling and his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, Moorhead; three sons, Stephen Sheri, Seminole, FL, Roger Lorie, Moorhead, MN, Richard Susan, Fargo; three daughters, Susan Douglas Muchow, Ogema, MN, Diane Jerry Sather, Hayden, CO, and Barbara Kenny Porteous, Steamboat Springs, CO; nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Barbara, Eden Prairie, MN; two sisters, Jean Jim Talley, Russellville, AR, and Josephine Douglas Carroll, Crystal, MN.In lieu of flowers, memorials may given to the Roger Maris Cancer Center, or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
