Patricia “Pat” Olson Engebretson

Patricia “Pat” Ann Olson Engebretson passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at her home in Moorhead under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Pat was born on November 20, 1948, in Grand Forks, ND. She moved with her family to Greenbush, MN at the age of 2. She grew up and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1966. After graduation, she moved to Fargo, ND to pursue her career. She worked for Northwest Bell/Quest for 43 years and retired in 2008.

Pat enjoyed her retirement years very much. She spent her summer days enjoying her time with good friends on Middle Cormorant at Swanies Campground. Many memories were made on pontoon rides, time around the campfire, and the annual Schroeder fish fry. She loved her occasional winters in Vero Beach, FL enjoying the sun and sand. Pat was a generous person, always willing to lend a hand and spend some time listening and visiting.

Pat is survived by her partner, Curt Schroeder, and his family; Pat’s two sisters, Marguerite (Larry) Henke and Sandy (Dean) Eggermont. Pat played a significant role in the lives of her nieces and nephews, Steven Henke, Terran Henke, Macrae (Carylanne) Henke, Melissa (Kyle) Anderson, Jeremy (Marissa) Truscinski, and Jessica (Jordy) Christian; six great-nieces and seven great-nephews; aunts and uncles, Richard Svir, Ray and Arlene Svir, and Maxine Olson; and several cousins.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn and Sanford Olson; several aunts and uncles; and one cousin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10:00 A.M., with a visitation starting one hour before, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
