Patricia Hoffman

Patricia Lou Schuschke was born June 7, 1935 in Lidgerwood, ND to Edward H. and Loretta S. (Glasner) Schuschke. Patricia (Pat) grew up and attended school in Lidgerwood. On April 21, 1956 Pat was united in marriage to Frank R. Slaby at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Lidgerwood. Pat and Frank lived in Lidgerwood, Hayward, CA, and West Fargo, ND before making their forever home in Moorhead, MN.

Pat's primary focus was her family. She provided a loving home environment where they could create lasting family memories.

Pat volunteered at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Moorhead and was involved with Sunday school, vacation bible school and the children's choir.

Pat also worked outside the home in various positions throughout her working years. She worked as a retail clerk, a teacher's aide, a physical therapy aide and a housekeeping aide.

Pat loved being with people and was able to easily make new friends and have a conversation with people she had never met before.

Pat is survived by her two children, Jeff (Julie) Slaby and Cindy (Gary) Kastet. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brent (Sarah) Rask, Kayla (Tanner) Graumann, Sara Slaby, Franklin Slaby, Cassandra Slaby, Nicholas (Kelly) Weltikol, Megan Weltikol and five great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank R. Slaby, husband Donald A. Hoffman, sister Donna Sturgess and brother in-law John (Jack) Sturgess, brother James Schuschke, sister Kathleen Jackson and brother in- law Larry Jackson, and her nephew Bruce Sturgess.

The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Eventide in Moorhead and Ethos Hospice for the care and compassion they provided during her time there as a resident.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 19, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
