Patricia M. Hesteness

Patricia May Hesteness, age 82, has answered the Lord’s call and is now in heaven with the angels and waltzing once again with her true love, Don. Pat or Patsy depending on when you knew her was born May 14, 1933 to Louis T. Larson and Anna J. Fellerer Larson. She loved the outdoor farm life and would rather spend time baling hay with her dad than learning homemaker skills from her mother while not really a cook, she could fry chicken and make a mean grilled cheese and tomato soup meal.

She graduated from Hawley High School in 1951 and eagerly looked forward to their reunions. She later attended Dakota Business College.

It was on the farm that she met the love of her life Donald Hesteness who drove between the farms collecting milk. They married July 13, 1956 and after a brief period in Fargo, raised their family in Moorhead, MN.

Pat was a crafts enthusiast who loved to make matching outfits for her kids, was a master with glitter paint and glue guns, loved decorating for every holiday and event at home and in her workplace and of course her outfit. She is probably already decorating heaven with glitter, gems and red paint. She also created memory plaques for others, enjoyed painting scenic pictures, and LOVED spending hours doing yard work. She also accumulated a large number like over 1, 000 of snowmen because they were always smiling and made her feel happy. She was the mother who drove for school trips, was a Camp Fire leader, the Den Mother for Scouts, attended every game and school program, created Halloween costumes and made sure her kids did their duty for the church. When possible, she liked to make her grandkids’ birthdays special by surprising them at school with cupcakes and balloons. One thing many may remember about her is how she loved to tickle. Pat devoted her life to her Catholic faith and her family.

Pat leaves behind her kids: Pamela Hesteness of Moorhead, Tamilyn Hesteness of Moorhead, Timothy Heather Hesteness of St. Louis Park, MN, and Ronald Rasha Hesteness of Ft. Wayne, MO. Her grandkids: Amy Hesteness, Billy Hesteness, Charlise Hesteness, Kristen Dreas Brown, Matt Michaela Hesteness, Joey Hesteness and Jeffrey Hesteness; and one great grandson Logan Hesteness.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Donald D. Hesteness 1986 and her parents Louis T. and Anna J. Larson.

The family would also like to thank the staff at Valley Care and Rehab, Barnesville, MN for the wonderful care received by Pat while she was there.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be in Silver Lake Pioneer Cemetery, Hawley, MN.
