Patrick "Pat" F. Costello

Patrick F. Costello, 69 of Dilworth, MN passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in his home surrounded by family.

Patrick “Pat” Frank Costello was born in Fargo, ND on March 16, 1955, to Michael and Esther (Johnson) Costello. He grew up in Dilworth but spent most summers at Costello Beach on Big Cormorant Lake near Audubon, MN. Pat graduated from Dilworth High School in 1973. 

On August 8, 1975, Pat married Debra “Snooper” Larson in Dilworth and together raised four girls.

Pat worked his entire career for Burlington Northern Railroad working his way up to Engineer. He retired from BNSF in 2015. 

Pat enjoyed playing golf and cards, fishing, crossword puzzles, music, and spending time in the garden. He and Snooper loved to travel and experienced all 50 states. He was a joy to have around and was the life of the party, often being the first to arrive and the last to leave. Most of all, Pat enjoyed spending time with family and made it to many of his grandchildren’s sporting events. He will be dearly missed.

Pat is survived by his wife, Snooper; daughters, Gina Costello, Angela (Chris) Bjerken, Andrea (Jason) Anderson, and Lisa (Tyler) Nelson, all of Dilworth; grandchildren, Kailyn and Mason Bjerken, Emily and Coby Nelson, and Jase Anderson; brother, Mike (Pam) Costello; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Scooter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth, MN.
