Paul W. Sahlberg

Paul W. Sahlberg, 59, of Hawley, MN, died Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Paul Wayne Sahlberg was born on June 20, 1954 in Detroit Lakes, MN, to George and Clara Skjerva Sahlberg. He grew up in the Hitterdal, MN area, graduating from Hitterdal High School. Paul grew up working on his father’s farm, and continued to buy and sell dairy replacement cattle until he became ill. He also enjoyed playing basketball, singing, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Sara Kyle Sager, West Fargo, ND; son, Andy Makell Sahlberg, Hawley, MN; brother, Michael Sahlberg, Ulen, MN; sister, Evaughn Bill Anderson, Inver Grove Heights, MN; and nieces and nephew, Rachel Rob Orr, St. Paul, MN, Erin Anderson Gordy, Inver Grove Heights, MN, and Steven Sahlberg, Fosston, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and half-sister, Judy Zachariason.

Paul’s family requests everyone attending to dress casual in their jeans and boots, just as Paul would.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN, with a visitation one hour before the service.
