Pearl J. Gunderson

Pearl J Gunderson, 86, of Detroit Lakes, MN died Friday, March 4, 2011, peacefully at Emmanuel Nursing Home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Pearl was born April 25, 1924 in rural Hawley, MN to AlmaCederberg and John Norman. Pearl married Clifford Gunderson in Hawley on April 22, 1942. Together they had nine children. Pearl and Clifford farmed near Rollag until 1965, when they moved to Lake Park. In 1971, they moved to Hawley. Pearl was employed as caregiver during her younger years. Pearl later moved to Detroit Lakes and was a resident of Emmanuel Nursing Home for the past several years.She is survived by five sons, Keith Annie of Forman, ND, Lavern Becky of Glyndon, MN, Gary Gloria of Hawley, MN, Terry June of Lehigh, Iowa, Jerry Deb of Audubon, MN; Three daughters, Linda Lewis, Dilworth, MN, Glenda Frank Supper of Clarissa, MN and Lucinda Gunderson of Frazee, MN; two sisters, Mae Gunderson, Hawley, MN and Fern Krogen of Detroit Lakes, MN; 23 Grand kids and 39 Great Grand kids and 3 Great Great Grand kids. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Brenda, one grandson, Brady, three brothers and three sisters. A private family service will be held in the spring at Grong Lutheran Cemetery, Rollag, MN. In lieu of flowers or gifts, a donation may be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley or The American Cancer Society.
