Peter Lawrence Jensen

Peter L. Jensen, 71, of Dilworth, MN, formerly of Hinckley, MN, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his hunting land in Pine County, MN.

Peter Lawrence Jensen, son of Willard and Alyce (Rick) Jensen, was born August 1, 1952, in Breckenridge, MN. Peter was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Breckenridge, MN. Peter graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1970 and Moorhead State University with degrees in Natural Resources / Forestry, and Business Education in 1974.

On June 12, 1976, Peter was united in marriage to Judy Kaiser in Detroit Lakes, MN. Peter and Judy were blessed with one child, Kelsey Lee Jensen, on September 21, 1987.

Peter taught Distributive Education at Moorhead High School for five years. He then worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for four years before becoming a Minnesota Conservation Officer. After retiring, Peter enjoyed substitute teaching for the Mora, MN, Pine City, MN, Moorhead, MN, and Dilworth/Glyndon/Felton, MN, school districts.

Hunting and fishing were Peter’s greatest hobbies. He always included his daughter in all of his hunting/fishing trips and adventures. Peter was a fantastic ornithologist, he could identify birds with just listening to them sing. His wealth of knowledge about wildlife will be missed by all.

Peter is survived by his wife, Judy, of forty-seven years; daughter, Kelsey Jensen (Paul Simonson); and best friend and brother, Jack Jensen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A private family service was held.
