Priscilla Lynn Hodgson

Priscilla Lynn (Hamlin) Hodgson, 62, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, in her home in Moorhead.

Priscilla was born on November 24, 1958, to Ralph and Marion (Bircher) Hamlin on November 24, 1958, in Neptune, New Jersey. She grew up in Thief River Falls, MN, where she attended high school. At the age of fifteen, she shadowed her mother, Marion, who was a Nurses Aid at the Hillcrest Nursing Home, in Red Lake Falls, MN. This inspired Priscilla to pursue a lifelong career as a nurse’s aid. She lived in California for a short time before moving back to Red Lake Falls, working for Hillcrest. There, she met Bruce Hodgson. They were later united in marriage on January 24, 1981, in Crookston, MN.

Priscilla worked as a nurse’s aid in many locations including, Riverview Nursing Home and with the Sisters of St. Joseph in Crookston, MN; with the Presentation Sisters in Fargo, ND, the Sisters in Hankinson, ND, and many more. She even worked with her daughter, Miranda in a few of those locations. For the last 20 years, she made her home in Moorhead, MN.

Priscilla enjoyed live music and attended rock and country concerts with her daughter, Miranda, and sister, Susan. She also enjoyed word searches, watching Lifetime Movies, and in her earlier years, riding motorcycles with Bruce. She was great with people, took pride in her work, and her patience enjoyed her care. She loved to spend time with her sister, Susan, who also lived in Moorhead, and especially loved spending time with her grandkids.

Priscilla is survived by her daughters, Miranda Hodgson and Magan Hodgson; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Lucas Hodgson; siblings, Ralph Hamlin Jr., Patricia (Steven) Cooley, Richard Hamlin, James Hamlin, Lester (Stacia) Hamlin, and Jeanne (Brian) Wilde; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Marion; and siblings, Robert, Michael, and David Hamlin, and Susan Penn.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., followed by the memorial service at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October, 25, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
