Ralph Anderson

Ralph Anderson, 96, of Fargo, ND, formerly Hawley, MN, died Thursday, September 11, 2014, in his home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Ralph Gustav Abel Anderson was born on April 2, 1918, at home in Highland Grove Township, MN, where he attended country school. Ralph lived on the family farm where he farmed until he was 31 years old. On December 16, 1950, Ralph married Doris Rawn. Ralph then worked construction with S & S Construction in Moorhead, MN for 28 years until his retirement in 1982. During the winters he worked for the Ice Gang, cutting blocks of ice. In 1991 they moved off the farm into Hawley, MN. Doris passed away in 2007. About 5 years ago, Ralph moved in with his son in Fargo, ND.

Ralph was a member of the Farmer’s Union and Highland Grove Church. He was an avid recycler and was honored by the city of Hawley for his recycling efforts.

Ralph is survived by his son, Dale Cathy Anderson, Fargo, ND, and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, Elmer and Carl Anderson and his sister, Alice Christensen.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Interment: Highland Grove Cemetery, rural Hitterdal, MN.
