Randal W. Johnson, 49, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on April 7, 2004, at MeritCare Hospital, in the presence of family. Randy was born December 29, 1954 in Detroit Lakes, MN, to H. Warren and Delores Morton Johnson. Randy grew up on the family farm south of Lake Park. Life on the farm included 4-H, showing cattle at the State Fair, softball games and cattle judging. Since 1984, Randy owned and operated Randy's on Lake Eunice, where he identified and connected with many different groups of people, all of whom he considered good friends. These people included team penners, golfers, music lovers, race enthusiasts, sports fans, card players, hunters, fellow trivia buffs and Jeopardy watchers. Randy was particularly proud of his "little bit of heaven", his farm just north of Lake Eunice.Randy's friends and family will miss his generosity, sense of humor and quick wit! His positive attitude and tremedous courage these last few years were amazing.He was preceded in death by his father.He is survived by his mother, Delores Johnson, Hawley, MN; five sisters, Vicki Mike Reek, Fargo, ND, Nancy Eric Wermager, Hawley, MN, Karla Scott Dahl, Cleveland, OH, Carmen Troy Olson, Hawley, MN, Stacy Kent McKercher, Bemidji, MN; one brother, Mark Bonnie Johnson, Fargo, ND; ten nieces and nephews and two more on the way.
