Randy C. Doran

Randy Charles Doran was born on May 9, 1958; he died on May 12, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Earl Doran. He is survived by his loving brothers and sisters: Myrna (Virgil) Litke, Marshall (Susan) Doran, Corinne Doran, and Carole (Mark Hogan) Doran. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Greg, Jessica, Lindsay, Braden, Megan, Ruby, and Calvin.

Randy was an independent, self-reliant, “old school” type of guy. His sense of humor tilted to the dry side. He could be a man of few words as well as the one who delivered the story that had everyone in stitches. He enjoyed nature and the activities the outdoors offered. Even as a young kid, he’d grab a fishing rod, cross the railroad tracks, and head down the Old #2 Road. Hunting, fishing, and having coffee with his buddies gave him joy. In the spring, he would head to Tulaby Lake, open his trailer, and reconnect with his lake family. Randy was always there to lend a helping hand. As a result, he developed a network of friends who were there to help him too. He generally was slow to anger, but when it came to that point, he would stand his ground. He was a loyal friend and caring brother.

Our hearts are broken. Randy will be missed by many. May we gain comfort by holding the stories and joyful memories of him in our hearts.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley, MN. A Celebration of Life will begin at 7:30 P.M.
