Randy Olson

Randy Olson, 51, Hawley, MN, died on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, in Innovis Health Fargo, ND. Randal David Olson was born on January 10, 1958, in Moorhead, MN, to Sigurd and Bertha Sande Olson. He grew up in Sabin, MN, and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1976. He went to work with his dad and brothers at Sig Olson and Sons Plastering in Moorhead, where he was currently co-owner. Examples of his expertise can be seen all over Fargo-Moorhead and beyond. Randy married Vicki McGrath on June 7, 1985, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN. She was the love of his life and they had three wonderful children that he adored along with his daughter-in-law, who he joyfully welcomed into the family. He had served as President of the Moorhead Jaycees, where he was awarded the Charles Kulp Jr. Memorial Award. Randy loved the outdoors and spending time on his land near Saum, MN, grooming trails and building deer stands. He was passionate about hunting and fishing and enjoyed cooking. He had a great sense of humor and was quick with his "one-liners". He loved spending time with family and friends and was dedicated to his work.Randy is survived by his wife, Vicki, Hawley, MN; son Chad Heidi Olson, Moorhead, MN; daughters, Megan Olson, Moorhead, MN, and Alli Olson, Hawley, MN; brothers, Ronald Sue Olson, and Roger Nyla Olson, both of Moorhead, MN; sisters, Julie McFarlin, Roseville, MN, Mary Rick Baumgartner, Isanti, MN, Susan Larry Sinsioco, Streamwood, IL, Karen Frank Gaudiane, Henderson, NV, Wendy Chris Lange, Sabin, MN; brother-in-law Gary Karen Christian, Harwood, ND; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Betty McGrath, Iowa City, IA; brother-in-law, Kevin Diane McGrath, Iowa City, IA; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and John; sister, Jana; and sister-in-law, Marlene Olson.
