Raymond F. Krier, age 96, of Moorhead, MN passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Valley Care and Rehab in Barnesville, MN.
Raymond Floyd Krier was born on April 23, 1923 to George and Gertrude (Falk) Krier in Odessa Township. Raymond grew up in the Ortonville area on the farm before moving to Barnesville when he was 17. He worked various jobs before marrying the love of his life, Irene Dunham, in 1945. He began work for Fenco Farms before moving to Moorhead with his family to begin working at Coca-Cola. Raymond and Irene were blessed with one daughter, Rebecca “Becky”. Raymond continued to work for Coca-Cola for 33 years doing various jobs such as bottling, delivery, and supervising before his retirement in 1976. In the early 1980’s, Irene and Ray moved to California where they were able to be closer to their family. They enjoyed traveling and in 1995 were able to travel to Norway. In 2001, they moved back to Moorhead. Irene passed away in 2009 and Raymond moved to Eventide in 2010. He most recently was a resident at Valley Care and Rehab in Barnesville.
Raymond enjoyed carpentry and wood working and was most proud of his Budweiser Clydesdales team and wagon. He liked to tinker with items and make new creations out of items that would otherwise be thrown away. He was known for recording many family home movies. Raymond had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for many years. He was a very kind and jolly gentleman and was also a prankster. Raymond and Irene were a very special aunt and uncle to their nieces and nephews as they always supported them in their activities. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Raymond is survived by his granddaughter, Holly (Andrew) Galombus; Holly’s father, Mike Watson; great-grandchildren, Ezra and Zane; sister-in-law, Deloris Dunham; and many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; daughter, Becky; son-in-law, Mike Kelly; brothers, Leonard and Ervin; and sister, Beatrice Olson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00 A.M., with a visitation starting at 10:00 A.M., at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead. Burial will take place at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
