Raymond "John" Holmgren, age 67, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, ND, with his family by his side.Raymond was born in Dudley, England to Margaret Morgan. In 1948 he came to the US. He grew up in Lake Park, MN, graduating in 1963. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Billigmeier July 5, 1964. They later divorced. John worked for the city of Lake Park, the railroad, and later as a Land Management Specialist for Otter Tail Power Company from which he retired. John enjoyed the outdoors, which included hunting, fishing, motorcycling, golfing and all sports. He also enjoyed playing cards, and watching movies. John was a Boy Scout leader, and an EMT for the ambulance service he helped start in Greenbush MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Margaret Holmgren, his grandmother, Jean McCrea, a brother-in-law, Keith Krogen, and many aunts and uncles.He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Kirkland of Glennville, WV, Dawn Barr Tony of Fargo, ND; and a son, Scott Holmgren Deena of Fargo, ND; his brother, Glenn Patsy Holmgren of Audubon, MN; two sisters, Francis Abel Kurt of Frazee, MN, and Rebecca Krogen Jeff of Lake Park, MN; three grandchildren, Mallory, Heather, and Anna; and two great- grandchildren, Sean and Christian Dix; his longtime caregiver and companion, Wanda Asleson of West Fargo, ND; nieces, Julie, Kathy, and Alicia; and nephews, Jared, Josh and Jacob.
