Renata R. Highness, 49, Moorhead, lost her battle to breast cancer on Thursday, October 14, 2010, in Sanford Medical Center Palliative Care Unit, with family at her side. Renata Rochell was born on January 11, 1961 in Leonardwood, MO, to Marvin and Ramona Hertel Lang. She attended school at Agassiz and Fargo South High School. After graduation she earned her bachelor and master degrees in social work from North Dakota State University. On July 21, 1979, Renata married Timothy L. Highness at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. They lived in Moorhead, where they raised their two daughters.Throughout her career Renata worked in the West Fargo and Moorhead school districts as a Paraprofessional. Most recently she worked at Aurora Elementary School, West Fargo, as a Paraprofessional. Renata was a warrior battling breast cancer for the last two years. She is a very strong woman, who loved helping special education children. She enjoyed Sioux hockey and spending her time with her family and dogs at the lake. She also enjoyed reading books and spending time in her garden at the lake. Renata is survived by her loving husband, Timothy; two daughters, Teresa Highness, Moorhead, MN and Tonya Joe Port, Moorhead, MN; father, Marvin Lang, Minneapolis, MN; mother-in-law, June Clayton Teigen, Moorhead, MN; three brothers, Warren Karen Lang, San Diego, CA, Grant Lynn Lang, Maryville, IL and Mike Julie Lang, Lakeville, MN; and 11 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ramona Lang, and father-in-law, Leo Highness.
