Reuben B. Richter, 79, of Moorhead, MN, and recently of Fargo, ND, passed away at his home on March 1, 2007. Reuben Richter was born on March 25, 1927 to Emma Schimke and Benjamin Richter in Hazen, ND. He was raised in Hazen, and married Norma Miller on January 21, 1946. Reuben and Norma spent the early years of their marriage in the southern United States and farming in western North Dakota before moving to Fargo where Reuben was a member of the North Dakota Air National Guard and worked as an electrical expert with the Happy Hooligans. In his free time Reuben enjoyed gardening, golfing, flying radio operated airplanes and making his own wine from chokecherries and rhubarb. He built the last 3 homes that he lived in and he co-founded the Valley R/C Flyer's club in Kragnes, Minnesota. Reuben is survived by his wife, Norma; his son, Kim Joanie Richter, Arlington, TX; his daughter, Karen Adkins, Fargo; his grandson who he raised as a son Jeremy Adkins, Minneapolis, MN; and his grandchildren Kylene, Katie and Cameron Richter, Arlington, TX. He is also survived by two sisters, Pauline Ovesen, Gainesville, FL, and Ernestine Dewar, San Antonio, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Reuben was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Beate Davis; brothers Ernest, Eldor, Roland and Ervin; infant daughter, Sharon; and an infant son, Steven.
