Richard M. (Dick) Cuddihy was born May 30, 1941 in St. Paul Minnesota to Richard and Marie (Wagner) Cuddihy. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul and as a young man he served his church for five years as a Brother in the Society Of The Divine Word. Following that service, he began his career as a glass artist. Originally, he traveled the country demonstrating and selling his art. Later, along with his partner Gary, he worked primarily in the three-state area. He loved his work and made many friends among both fellow artists and faithful customers. In 1996 he became a paraplegic due to a spinal cord tumor. This life altering event did not diminish his zest for living or his love for his work, church, or friends. Despite these hurdles, his career spanned 50 years and he continued to work until he retired at age 78 due to the pandemic.
Dick was a faithful member of North Buffalo Lutheran Church where he served on various committees including serving as Council President. He was known for the home baked bread he made and served each Wednesday during Lent.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rita Olson and Marianne Papenfuhs.
He is survived by his partner Gary Sauter.
