Richard E. Arvidson

Richard was born February 22, 1941, in Deadwood, SD, to Erving and Genevieve Heckel Arvidson. He grew up in Spring Lake Park, MN, where he attended and graduated from high school. On April 16, 1977, he married Patricia Crandall in Akeley, MN. Over the years, Richard worked at Walters Sanitation, Justers Steel, Honeywell, and Wyatts Ready Mix before moving to Moorhead. He then worked in maintenance at the Moorhead Center Mall until retiring in 2003.Richard was a special person and would do anything asked of him. He loved working with wood and with his talents, created many projects with his son over the years. He even made "Easter" baskets for his sisters and special friends. Richard enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, playing cards and going to the casino. He also loved animals, especially his girls, Fergee and Molly. Richard leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Patricia; daughters, Luree Howie Jacobson, Julianne Geoff Deal; sons, Michael Arvidson, Erik Amber Arvidson; nine grandchildren, Nolan, Alex, Laura, Erin, Lauren, Hannah, John, Carter and Casen; two great-grandchildren, Landrey and Tessly; five great-nieces and nephews "grandchildren," Anna, Jacob, Grace, Frank, Abby; sisters, Lois Steeves, Donna McCarthy; brother, Leonard Arvidson; uncle, Leo Heckel; and many nieces and nephews.
