Richard "Jerry" Hedemark, 76, of Moorhead, died on July 10, 2005 in MeritCare's Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.Richard was born on October 7, 1928 in St. Paul, MN to Truman and Velma Hayes Hedemark. He grew up in Revillo, South Dakota and graduated from high school in Thief River Falls, Minnesota in 1946. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a secretary guard at Los Alamos, New Mexico. He then attended South Dakota State University, graduating with a degree in Pharmacy in 1951. He worked as a pharmacist in Aberdeen, South Dakota and later in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He then moved to Moorhead and operated S&H Drug along with his partner, Parker Simonson, for 17 years. He then opened Hedemark Pharmacy in St. Ansgar Medical Center, which he owned and operated for 18 years until his retirement.Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, the Lakes area and interacting with the Fargo-Moorhead community through his work, church, and service clubs. He married Carol Jane Moen on June 7, 1953 in Sisseton, South Dakota. Carol passed away on July 21, 2003. Richard is survived by one son, Michael Hedemark, Gatzke, MN; two daughters, Jayne Hedemark-Gonzales, Golden, Colorado, and Susan Hedemark, Moorhead, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Jacob and Kristy Hass, Moorhead, MN; and one brother, Truman "Ted" Hedemark, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
